Here We Go - P.A.K. 45 Starts Up!
“It’s time to ‘get after it!’” That’s the message we’re giving our 4th and 5th
graders, and they are ready to go!
P.A.K. 45 is a Sunday morning club designed to both challenge and meet the
unique needs of our 4th and 5th grade students. P.A.K. stands for “Pretty
Awesome Kids,” and while we call ourselves a club, we are really a ministry!
“We believe our kids are capable of reaching out and serving others,” says
Pastor Ed. “We want to stress three core concepts to our kids—to help them see
that our club is not merely a social hangout, but a ministry.”
P.A.K. 45 has thee purposes for our students: (1) inspire a deep walk with God;
(2) invite friends; and (3) instill service. As our kids learn to love God more
through studying and applying God’s Word, they will desire to share the good
news of God’s love with their peers and be creative in conveying that message
to others through a variety of service opportunities. The club’s staff is
taking an entire month to teach these three core concepts to the kids so they
really own the purpose and can begin reaching others.
“We just want to make God’s truth as relevant as possible—to help kids make
sense of the Bible and how it can make a difference each day,” says staff
leader Larry Jenkins. “We have a lot of fun with social time and games and ice
breakers, but our main focus is teaching the Bible in a way that is relevant
and then going in-depth with students through breakout groups. Kids take notes
and are really starting to open us with us. It’s fun!”
P.A.K. 45 meets 2nd hour in the 4th & 5th grade room. Bring your friends and
